FOURTH ANNOUNCEMENT

Meeting FReSWeD 2019
Towards Future Research on Space Weather Drivers
July 2-7, 2019
San Juan, Argentina

Dear FReSWeD meeting participant,

The total solar eclipse and our meeting are less than two months away!

We would like to let you know that the detailed scientific program of the meeting is available at:

http://www.iafe.uba.ar/freswed2019/program.html

There you will also find the instructions for oral and poster presentations.

Please, notice that the registration desk will be open on 1 July from 16:00 to 18:00hs at the venue location (Convention Center "Guillermo Barrena Guzmán"). At that time, we will distribute vouchers for the welcome reception (for all participants) that will take place just after the eclipse, and for our buses to the eclipse site (for those participants who have paid the early-bird registration fee).

If you are also attending the school, please note that the school program has been updated and is available at: http://www.iafe.uba.ar/freswed2019/school.html

Looking forward to see you in San Juan,

THIRD ANNOUNCEMENT

Meeting FReSWeD 2019
Towards Future Research on Space Weather Drivers
July 2-7, 2019
San Juan, Argentina

This meeting will promote the exchange of information in the area of space weather, from the point of view of the phenomena that drive it from its origin in the solar atmosphere, through its evolution in the interplanetary medium, to its arrival in geospace. The event will be accompanied by a school with a mix of introductory tutorials, demos and hands-on labs.

This meeting and associated school are being organized on the occasion of the total solar eclipse of 2019, whose totality path will cross five provinces of Argentina extending for more than 1200 km.

Early-bird registration and abstract submission are now open: http://www.iafe.uba.ar/freswed2019/registration.html

Partial financial support can be requested at: http://www.iafe.uba.ar/freswed2019/financial_support.html

Please note that the deadline for early-bird registration, partial financial support request, and abstract submission for those requesting support, is 18 January 2019.

Best regards,

SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT

FReSWeD 2019
Towards Future Research on Space Weather Drivers
July 2-7 2019, San Juan, Argentina

The goal of this meeting is to promote the exchange of information in the area of space weather from the point of view of the phenomena that drive it from their origin in the solar atmosphere, through their evolution in the interplanetary medium, to their arrival in geospace. The Meeting will be accompanied by a School geared towards students and young researchers who seek to gain a broad overview of space weather domains, concepts, tools and resources.

These events are being organized on the occasion of the total solar eclipse of 2019, whose totality path will cross five provinces of Argentina extending for more than 1200 km.

Because of the large affluence of tourists during 30 June - 2 July (around 8000 people are expected), we urge those interested in attending to make their travel and lodging arrangements as soon as possible. Please check the "Travel and Lodging" section in our website (http://www.iafe.uba.ar/freswed2019/travel.html) where we have recently updated relevant information in this respect.

Students and young researchers planning to attend the school, please notice the information at: http://www.iafe.uba.ar/freswed2019/school.html

Important dates on registration and abstract submission have also been updated, please see http://www.iafe.uba.ar/freswed2019/dates.html

Apologies for duplicate emails.

FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

Workshop FReSWeD 2019
Towards Future Research on Space Weather Drivers
July 2-7, 2019
San Juan, Argentina

Understanding and being able to forecast space weather is an increasingly important aspect of our modern technology-reliant society. This Workshop will promote the exchange of information in the area of space weather, from the point of view of the phenomena that drive it from their origin in the solar atmosphere, through their evolution in the interplanetary medium, to their arrival in geospace. Advanced understanding on space weather drivers is essential to improve predictability of the solar-terrestrial coupling.

Among the specific subjects that will be covered are:

-Solar sources, generation and development of dynamic events that determine space weather conditions.
-Coupling of solar atmospheric layers: data-driven models of the large scale corona and solar wind.
-Interplanetary counterparts of solar activity and its space weather consequences.
-Computational and observational tools for space weather forecasting.
-Space- and ground-based instrumentation with space weather applications.

The Workshop will include invited and contributed talks, posters, as well as joint discussions. The Workshop will be accompanied by a school with a mix of introductory tutorials, demos and hands-on labs. These activities are geared towards students and young researchers who seek to gain a broad overview of space weather domains, concepts and tools/resources.

This space weather Workshop and its associated school are being organized on the occasion of the total solar eclipse of 2019, whose totality path will cross five provinces of Argentina extending for more than 1200 km.

Further information can be found at: http://www.iafe.uba.ar/freswed2019.

If you are interested in attending and would like to be on a pre-registration email list, please fill in the pre-registration form on our website above.
