The IAFE is a scientific research institute dependent on the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) and the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).
Our task is to carry out research in various fields of Astronomy and Space Sciences, both from an observational and theoretical point of view.
Consistent with its activity in basic research, the IAFE shows a clear commitment to the training of young researchers, who carry out their Bachelor’s and Doctoral theses in Physical Sciences or Astronomy at our Institute.
