Nocturnal means of airglow intensity for the O2(0-1) Atmospheric
band at El Leoncito (32°S, 69°W), in 2007. Intensities have been
adjusted for consistency with data before November 2002 (detector change).
Note the "burst" events on Feb 28 and March 8, like those we have
previously only observed in April (or Oct). Mean intensities peak in late
Feb/early March (rather than the usual Apr/early May). This looks like "April
conditions" more than one month too early. While the time of seasonal minimum
is "about right", the subsequent rise seems to be early, too. All this gives
the impression of a "phase shift" by one or two months, compared to "what it
used to be".
The green line here corresponds to the climatology explained in
Reisin and Scheer (2009).
