Latin American School on Data Analysis and Simulations for Space Physics April 23-26, 2018 School of Sciences, University of Buenos Aires, Argentina |
Goals of the School The School is organized by the Latin American Association for Space Geophysics(ALAGE, in spanish) and it will take place in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in conjunction with the Eleventh Latin American Meeting on Space Geophysics (COLAGE XI, http://www.iafe.uba.ar/colage11/). It will consist of a series of intensive curses on subjects such as: Space Weather, Physics of Space Plasmas, Planetary Magnetospheres, Solar and Heliospheric Physics and Atmospheric and Ionospheric Physics. Each course will be delivered by a renowned researcher in on the subject and it will be a unique opportunity for the Latin American students to learn and update their knowledge on the topics covered by the School. Lecturers and Topics - Planetary Magnetospheres, Dr. Frances Bagenal (University of Colorado, USA) - Particle acceleration and shocks, Dr. David Ruffolo (Mahidol University, Thailand) - Turbulence in the Solar Wind, Dr. William H. Matthaeus (University of Delaware, USA) - Space Weather, Dr. Clezio DeNardin (INPE, Brasil) - Solar and Heliospheric Physics, Fouad Sahraoui (Ecole Polytechnique, France) Venue of the school The CELFI School will take place in Pabellon I (see photo) of the Facultad de Ciencias Exactas de la Universidad de Buenos Aires.
